Out For A Cruise
Out in La-La land, pop sensation Ashlee Simpson has called it quits with singer Ryan Cabrera. Cabrera, also managed by Ashlee's father, Joe Simpson, has been featured on MTV's "Ashlee Simpson Show," but scheduling problems have doomed their budding fling.
"They are both so busy with touring and promotion," a source shared. "They looked at the calendar and realized that the next time they'd be able to get together is a year from now."
A representative for Ashlee -- whose latest album, "Autobiography," recently topped the pop charts -- did not return calls.
Well Hmmm. He was apparently a singer before she was and now she's all famous and he is only famous for being her boyfriend on her TV show. $10 says that he broke up with her because he couldn't handle her fame. I say good riddance. When you are the new reigning pop princess you need to be free and unfettered by hangers-on. Look what Kevin Federline did to Britney Spears! Ick! Chin up Ashlee, you'll be just fine. You need to date within your stratosphere of stardom. Maybe a guy from Maroon 5 or one of the guys in Yellowcard? Either way, you'll get a new man soon.
Oh Paris, Paris, Paris. In her dazed and confused state recently she ventured out into the world wearing a very loose tank top and into a throng of paparazzi. Long story short, Paris Hilton let one slip. Thanks to the website The Superficial, you can see Paris' wardrobe malfunction (HERE).
Tonight, after I helped Erik with some quick yard work (yes folks, I raked leaves and grass clippings AND I pulled weeds ... with my hands!) I drove out to West Bloomfield to pick up the Voluptuous Latina Babe Sarah so that we could hang out for her birthday. I wanted to do something fun with her on her birthday so I offered to take her to a movie. Of course it was her pick so we went to see Collateral. I'm not sure what I was expecting but it wasn't what I got. The movie was very intense if completely unrealistic. I think I was expecting more drawn out drama. The movie was total edge-of-your-seat suspense. I was kind of let down by the resolution but overall it was a pretty good movie. I think VLB liked it. I know she liked Jamie Foxx a lot. I was happy to see two of my phones (Moto V600 and Nokia 6820) in the movie along with the flash drive that I use. She has to get up early tomorrow (6am) so we didn't make it a late night. I dropped her off after the movie. BUT we've made plans to hang out Friday night. Erik will be going out with his friend Andrea (who will be visiting from Kalamazoo for the night) so VLB and I are going to chill out and watch the opening ceremonies of the Summer Olympics. Yes, I realize that we are nerds. Oh well, what do you want from me? If you think I should be doing something more exciting come take me out.

"By Tuesday I'm Fading"
I wish her the happiest birthday possible. May she get all that she wishes for. I love you VLB!
But while I'm happy for VLB's birthday I'm getting sad about the nearing end of summer. The middle of August is getting closer and the prospect of having to go back to work is making me sad. I stayed up really late last night and I realized that those late nights are coming to an end. Even though I still have time before work begins again, there are a lot of things that I have to get done really soon. I have to start working on lesson plans and I have to prepare my computer labs for occupation.
I'm blue.
But I'm going to try and buck up and make the most of my time. Erik's birthday is this coming weekend so that will be a blast. I've also been invited (along with Sarah) to hang out with LeAnn Rimes by her sister-in-law (and my crazy friend) Candice. I'm excited because it's bound to be fun. We are going to make sure it's fun. More on this in the coming days.
Tori Amos is doing at least one date in NYC next February dubbed An Evening with Tori Amos that promises not only music but conversation with the audience as well. Sarah and I are seriously contemplating making the trip out to NY to see this show. We are hoping to get tickets for the show this weekend and then we'll begin work on travel plans and accommodations. Wee! We love Tori so much. This would be an awesome trip. The 2 of us haven't traveled together in a long time. I'm really excited!
Elsewhere:
- The Hilton Sisters got ripped off. Burglars targeted the Hollywood Hills home shared by Paris and Nicky Hilton late Wednesday evening--just about the same time that Paris' Simple Life wrapped up its second season on Fox--and made off with some serious booty, including a laptop, cash and more than $100,000 in jewelry. It's great publicity and I doubt that they really give a crap about $100,000 in jewelry. It's a win-win situation.
- Yay! Buffy isn't indecent! "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Will & Grace" passed the indecency test at the FCC on Monday as the agency rejected complaints against the popular TV shows filed by two conservative-leaning interest groups. Although that one episode where Xander appeared in a tiny speedo was kind of risqué. Mmmm ... Xander in speedo ...
- Someone has had the brilliant idea to make a new zombie movie -- shooting some scenes in Chernobyl, Ukraine. Return of the Living Dead 4: Necropolis is going to be the first movie that has been given access to the Chernobyl disaster site for filming. Um, seems in bad taste doesn't it?
- Janet Jackson is going to appear in an episode of Will & Grace next season. She is going to appear as herself. They'll probably to some stupid boob joke thing which means it will be lame.
- The Scissor Sisters are talking about their collaborations with Kylie Minogue. It sounds like they've recorded a few songs but there has been no release date announced. Should be cool.
As I said earlier, today is VLB's birthday and she and I are going to do something tonight. I'm thinking a movie and some ice cream. I love her, she's so amazing and so sweet. I hope she has a great day.
