This Is Halloween
Happy Halloween, y'all! And to the lovely pagans out there, Happy New Year! Joyous All Hallows ... Wondrous Samhain! Halloween Day always feels so strange to me ... there's all this anticipation for the night's festivities and the day just seems to go a little slower. But there is goss to be had ... so let's have it ...
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony were unaware that the ACE Awards held at Cipriani in NYC on Monday night was NOT a costume ball ... but they came dressed up anyways:
Oh wait ... no they didn't. Ah well ... it's always a frighteningly good time whenever Marc Anthony is in the hizzy. J. Lo was honored at the ACE Awards for her design work (ie. her clothing and accessory lines) and to that I say Congrats! To Marc I say ... get a blood transfusion. [Source]
Over in London, Ashlee Simpson bid adieu to the West End stage where she has been playing Roxie Hart in the London version of Chicago: The Musical, having completed her run. The only problem is that Ashlee Simpson gets more and more unrecognizable every single day ... wouldn't it be great if Ashlee dressed up as the old Ashlee for Halloween?
She would have the opposite effect ... instead of her new scary face she'd be rockin' her old not-quite-as-scary face. I miss the old Ashlee. Boo! [Source]

John Travolta isn't really dressed up for Halloween ... but he does look very scary nonetheless. Here is a new picture of John gettin' his groove on as Edna Turnblad as he wrapped his scenes over the weekend in Toronto on the set of the new movie version of Hairspray: The Musical:
In the wee hours of Saturday morning on the soundstages of the new movie version of Hairspray, the fat lady sang. Or at least lip-synched to a pre-recorded track. And then it was over for John Travolta. The Grease star wrapped his return to the musical genre. Travolta said goodbye to the generously proportioned Edna Turnblad — the same role created by the late Divine in the 1988 John Waters film and by Tony winner Harvey Fierstein in the smash Broadway show. Travolta's version is expected in theaters next summer. "It's good," said the exhausted actor of finally being freed of Edna's cumbersome body. "The effect that I caused is fun and all, but it's a lot of work, man" ... Travolta wanted to make Edna sexier and real, not a campy drag act. That required four hours of prep time before putting in eight hours of performing in padding and silicone prosthetics. Um ... if he's going for "sexy" I think he's failed miserably. He does make a good ugly woman tho. Ugh, I hope to never get to see John Travolta in support hose again ... tho, I'll have to deal with it when the movie comes out next summer :) [Source]

Okay ... now this is just my opinion so don't ya'll start jumping down my throat -- but I felt that this sequel had too much plot in it. These movies are all about the gore and yes, there is some gore in this movie. But I don't think there was enough gore, nor do I think enough attention was paid to the gory scenes. There was too much "relationship" crap getting in the way. And I'm sorry, but the vengeful dad who was being tested was BO-RING! I honestly didn't care about his plight ... the twist at the end (about who was really the one being tested) was not exciting at all. I mean, I get it ... overall ... the 3 movies tell a big story but I really think this movie could've had more OOMPH. I was actually more entertained by the tralier for Hostel 2 (in German!) that played before the movie. Okay ... so not really but I was a bit disappointed ... but not enough to hate the movie. I cringed, believe me ... I cringed most of the time. I say, if you're gonna do a gory movie keep the plot developments to the bare minimum and gross me the hell out.
David and I still haven't decided what we're doing tonight ... but I think we've got our costumes. They're kinda lame ... but kinda perfect for us. Pictures tomorrow!

The Fairytale Has Ended
TMZ is reporting that Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe have decided to call it quits on their marriage. A representative for the couple has already released a statement concerning the couple's desire to break-up ... apparently things have been building for some time now leading to this split:
Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe have separated. The couple's rep released a statement to TMZ Monday morning that says "We are saddened to announce that Reese & Ryan have decided to formally separate. They remain committed to their family and we ask that you please respect their privacy and the safety of their children at this time." Sources tell TMZ Witherspoon has contacted celebrity divorce lawyer Robert Kaufman, who has represented Jennifer Aniston, Roseanne and Lisa Marie Presley. Sources say Witherspoon spoke with Kaufman about divorcing Ryan Phillippe, her husband of seven years. I'm utterly shocked ... this is such sad, sad news. Altho, I have been getting wind that there was something amiss in their marriage for some time now. Pink reader Lauren actually saw Ryan making out with some chick behind Reese's back in Texas just last week: Ryan Phillippe is in Austin right now filming a movie, I've seen Reese here once with Deacon. My friends and I went to Kenichi in downtown Austin on Tuesday night and sat 2 tables away from Phillippe and an extremely attractive blonde (not Reese). The couple had a partition placed around their table soon after they arrived but we could still see their legs intertwined under the table and as we left could see them clearly making out behind the partition. I really didn't want to believe it but it makes total sense now. Witherppe were prolly my fave celeb couple. They were so cute together. What a bummer. [Source]

Hallowe'en'en
Woot! David and I had a blast in San Francisco this past weekend but it got really cold Saturday night and all day Sunday ... it's nice being back in LA where the forecast is for high 70s all week long -- Holla! It's Halloween eve and I *still* don't know what we're doing tomorrow -- I don't even have a costume yet ... but, there are a few options so we'll see. The celebs are getting ready for Halloween so let's get to the goss ...
Britney Spears looks like she's getting back to her good ol' normal self ... at the very least, she's going out in public on a regular basis again. Sure, her reemergence isn't as stunning as Whitney Houston's but we're getting there. Can I just say that I really love starting out the day's post with Brit news instead of K-Fed news. Long-time readers know that I always try to start my posts with whatever Spederline news is available and now that Brit Brit is going out in public again ... well, I'm just glad there's something to talk about. I've been listening to the K-Fed song Crazy which features Britney on vocals (Breathe Heavy has the HQ download HERE) and I don't really love it as much as I thought I would. The Greatest Lurve Of All
There really must be a man upstairs who has the ability to work wondrous miracles with just the snap of a finger ... SNAP! Whitney Houston comes to her senses and finally decides to divorce Bobby Brown, SNAP! Whitney Houston reemerges as the fierce diva that we all once knew and loved. I can hardly believe my eyes ... but here she is ... Miss Whitney Houston looking fine as all hell at the 17th annual Mercedes-Benz Carousel of Hope Ball in Beverly Hills last night:
I love it! She looks amazing ... and she finally looks fit enough to stage a real comeback. Homegirl has finally learned that the less Bobby Brown in her life, the more diamonds she can have ... she's dripping in ice. Thank the Lord above that our dear Whitney looks ready to reclaim her divaness. Welcome back, Whit ... we missed you! [Source]
Lindsay Lohan has been keeping herself really bizzy the past few nights hitting pretty much every party in sight all over Hollywood ... here are a couple pictures of L. Lo rockin' a couple of different costumes for a couple different parties:

Altho ... it appears that all this partying may be finally catching up with her. The usually adept party animal was seen early this morning in a very strange state, according to TMZ: At 6:45 am, a TMZ spy spotted Lindsay at Olive and Sunset in Hollywood, near a dog park. Lindsay was sitting in her parked black Cadillac Escalade and our spy, who was walking his dog, could see Lohan through the tinted windows, "freaking out" and talking on her phone. Then, Lohan called our spy over and told him that two men in a silver Toyota 4Runner -- parked behind her -- had been following her for the last two hours, trying to "hit" her vehicle. Our spy reports that "she seemed out of it," that it appeared she'd been out all night, and that she'd clearly been crying, with mascara running down her face. "I've called the cops," said Lindsay of her alleged pursuers. "But the cops can't catch them." Um, it turns out that the car she was freaking out over was just the regular paparazzi that is usually on her tail. Maybe she was just tired ... all that partying must be taking its toll on her. Seriously ... there isn't anything more frightening than a 44-year old woman trapped inside the body of a 9-year old girl dressed up like Snow White wearing much too much make-up:
I don't know what it is ... but Dakota Fanning kinda creeps me out. It's like she's too wizened to be a little girl. I'm utterly convinced that she's really an adult woman trapped in the body of a child ... WHO WANTS TO EAT MY SOUL! It's a good think I'm not a paranoid person. Incidentally, Dakota must be a big Disney fan -- she was Scarlett O'Hara from Gone with the Wind and her little friend was Mary Poppins at the same event last year. [Source]

Steve Irwin's widow Terri is reportedly "devastated" by an episode of controversial TV cartoon South Park that pokes fun at the late Crocodile Hunter. Terri, 42, is said to be worried that Irwin's children Bindi, eight, and Bob, two, will see the show, which portrays the late star with a stingray sticking out of his chest less than two months after he died. On Friday Australian TV channel SBS announced it is planning to air the episode in Australia next year or in 2008. It has already been shown in the US. A friend of Irwin's widow says, "Terri is devastated Steve is being mocked in such a cruel way. Her worry is that Bindi and Bob will see it and break down. She wears Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana (who are friends of the star) throughout the issue, and perusing the mag confirms it really is Kylie as we've never seen her before. In her editor's letter, Kylie offers her thanks and gratitude to those who have stood by her, especially since her breast cancer diagnosis. Somehow, the Aussie chick fitted in her "publishing" role while she prepared for her upcoming Showgirl Homecoming tour, put the finishing touches to a new Darling scent from Coty, completed her underwear line for Target and promoted her first kids' book. "Since my cancer diagnosis, my whole world changed - I have learned and experienced so much about myself and others," she tells Vogue readers. "It's great to be able to make those first steps back into the life I knew before, the one I now better know." I'm not always a fan of these types of photoshoots but I think Kylie does high fashion very well. She is able to morph into so many different characters with something as simple as a haircut (she and Madonna do it best). "It's great to be able to make those first steps back into the life I knew before, the one I now better know." I'm not always a fan of these types of photoshoots but I think Kylie does high fashion very well. She is able to morph into so many different characters with something as simple as a haircut (she and Madonna do it best). Last night we were invited to help celebrate Shaine and Aram's friend Bridget's birthday ... and while she was the woman of the hour, her little baby pug Lola was the real star of the night:
As you can tell ... Shaine (dressed as a party animal) has magical fingers ... David was pretty much putty in her hands. After the party we all went to a bar called 500 Club where we met up with more of their friends -- dressed as naughty Girl Scouts. Nikki and Kori were deff the naughtiest of the bunch ;)
We've had a great little stay here in San Francisco ... we leave for LA tonight ... the warm weather seems to have gone away already ... so it'll be nice to be back home. I hope y'all are having a great weekend! I'm out.

The San Francisco Treat
Woot! We are having a great time here in San Francisco! Despite the crushing loss by the Detroit Tigers last night, we are having a blast. I'm not sure when this post will actually go live since Blogger has been having publishing problems since yesterday afternoon. I will post this as soon as I can ... let's get to it ...
Halloween is still a few days away but the celebrations have already gotten underway. Paris Hilton and Stavros Niarchos have been spending quite a lot of time together these days ... here are a few photos of Parisopolis on their way to a Halloween party in the Hollywood Hills last night:
