Gentlemen, Start Your Engines

The North American International Auto Show had its kick-off last night in Detroit, MI at the General Motors Style Show that brought heaps of celebs to Detroit Rock City to get things started right. I don't recall the Detroit Auto Show having so many celebs in town all at the same time but last night's event was full of some pretty cool peeps. Trust me, it kills me to be missing out on the Auto Show this year. I've been to the Auto Show many, many, many times over the years and it's a shame I'm missing this celeb-filled year but I am very happy to see Detroit (with the help of GM) putting on such a great party. Here are a few photos from the event:

Miss Diva Jennifer Hudson was really workin' her biz on that runway ... as was Carmen Electra, Kristin Bell and Mario Lopez ... even Lady Sovereign was in the hiz with a little performance. [Source, Source]

Jay-Z (with GM VP Michael V. Jackson), Fall Out Boy and John Legend were also in the building:

Fall Out Boy were on hand to unveil the new Honda Civic that they designed and, along with John Legend, also performed a few tunes for the event. Honestly, I don't think that there were this many celebs in Detroit Rock City for the Super Bowl last February ... but I'll say it again ... it's amazing seeing these pictures of the biggest Detroit party around. Much love goes out to GM for helping to show the world that Detroit knows how to do it right. [Source, Source]

On this side of the country, peeps convened in Palm Springs, CA for the Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala which took place this weekend ... here are pictures of Brad Pitt arriving at the Palm Springs airport for the event:

Brad looks pretty light on both luggage and family. He's prolly only in town for the weekend to put in his appearances at the Film Festival events and then will be off to meet up with the family again. [Source]

Here are a few pics of some of the peeps who showed up for the Palm Springs Film Fest soiree last night:

Eh ... it's just the usual suspects ... promoting movies, blah blah blah ... I'm sure the Film Fest is fab but I'm kinda anxious to just get to the nitty gritty and to get to the handing out of major awards already. The Golden Globes are just days away and then Academy Award noms will be released. I wanna just get to it already. [Source]

Anna Nicole Smith has emerged on US soil this weekend ... since being ordered to submit her newborn baby girl to a paternity test here in the US it seems that Anna Nicole thought it'd be fun to take in a boxing match as well. Here are a few pictures of Anna Nicole and her inseparable lawyer and "committed partner" Howard K. Stern in Miami, FL at a WBC Heavyweight Eliminator Boxing match between Samuel "The Nigerian Nightmare" Peter and James "Lights Out" Toney:

I suppose it's nice that she doesn't look as horrible as she usually does when she goes out in public ... but WTF? is up with that tattoo on her back? I realize that I'm not always up-to-date on all of her trashy-ass tattoos but this one looks newer to me. I assume the baby is her daughter Dannielynn Hope but I'm not sure who the other face is supposed to be. Could it be her deceased son, Daniel? It would seem a fitting Anna Nicole Smith tribute to his memory if it is, indeed, a tattoo of his face. [Source]

Those of you who have been praying for a new season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer can rejoice ... Buffy creator Joss Whedon is about to release a new season of BtVS in comic book form this coming March ... Dark Horse Comics has released this preview of the new comic book series:

I suppose I should be happy at this news ... Buffy in comic form is better than nothing, I think ... but there is no way that this series will ever be able to take the place of the TV show. Yes, the story will get advanced and yes our fave characters will live on ... but my fave part of the show was the interaction between the living, breathing actors -- something that will never be replicated in comic book form. Don't get me wrong ... I'm not hating at all ... I'm actually quite interested to see how the story continues but ... it just won't be the same. [Source, thanks Christina]

A very swollen-looking Angelina Jolie is on the cover of the new February issue of UK Elle magazine:

Is it just me or does she look kinda pregs? At the very least, she looks like she's nursing. Are these old pictures that are just now being used? I'm actually surprised more people haven't been making a fuss over her heaving mams in these photos ... has the world tired of “is she or isn’t she pregs” stories already? [Source]

Daniel Craig, the newest and arguable the hottest James Bond, is on the cover of the new Italian issue of Vanity Fair magazine:

He really makes scruffy look insanely hot ... plus those piercing blue eyes are kinda sexy. Yeah, he is deff my fave Bond. [Source]

Those loveable McFly boys are at it again ... they seem to have the hardest time keeping their clothes on! Here is a preview pic of McFly wearing nothing but their instruments in the new issue of Attitude magazine:

I always gotta give much love and props to these boys for not shying away from pleasing their gay fans (Attitude is a gay magazine) and not shying away from exploiting their nekkid bodies whenever they get the chance. It's extremely refreshing to see guys having no problem with being nekkid. Maybe it's a British thing? Back in the day boyband Take That routinely dropped trou (and everything else) for the fans ... as does Robbie Williams these days. Gotta love those Brits! [Source]

Speaking of dropping trou, it's time for the Hot Dude of the Week ... I meant to post a pic last week for NYE but all the hoopla of Las Vegas knocked me off point. To make up for it ... here is a hot picture of model boy Shane:

Shane looks really comfortable wearing only a blanket and a couch. I had to reorient the photo so that more of Shane could be appreciated ... I hope you don't mind. See ... there's something to be said for laying around on the couch doing nothing. Enjoy! [Source]

Les News:
So yeah ... David is already back in NYC and I'm here all alone ... with a messy apartment and LOADS of laundry to do ... ahh ... it's nice that things are back to normal. David and I have resolved to not go too long without seeing one another this year so it shant be long until we are reunited again -- plans are already in the works.

I think I'm hanging out with Jim and Davey today ... we have a lot of catching up to do. As much as I love cleaning and doing laundry, I think I'll put all of that off until tomorrow ... it'd be a shame to waste a lovely Sunday on housework.

I'm out.
