Live By The Bottle, Die By The Bottle

As we wait the final results of the coroner's report on the death of Anna Nicole Smith, massive amounts of information is flying all over the place (including video of her last moments alive) ... and it's hard to tell what has validity and what is pure conjecture. Larry Birkhead, the man who contends that he is father of Anna Nicole's baby girl Danielynne Hope, has posted a loving message on his official website in memoriam to Anna Nicole:

This message does seem like a touching sentiment considering the adversarial nature of Anna Nicole's recent relationship with Larry. As the autopsy of Anna Nicole takes place today a judge has ruled that her body must be preserved and cannot be buried pending a hearing in the court-ordered paternity test legal battle of Danielynne Hope which will take place on February 20th.

With an autopsy ongoing, a California judge ruled Anna Nicole Smith could not be buried until at least February 20, when a hearing will be held to resolve a paternity dispute over Smith's 5-month-old daughter. The ruling came as new information surfaced about Smith's last days, during which she fell ill, according to sources. Investigators began an autopsy Friday to help determine the cause of Smith's death, according to the Broward County medical examiner's office.

Even after her death the hoopla surrounding the fight for her daughter rages on. [Source]

Access Hollywood is reporting that Anna Nicole choked on her own vomit and CNN is reporting that prescription drugs were found in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Hotel. Here are a couple pictures of Anna Nicole from her last visit to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, FL just last month:

According to a credible source, an employee of Anna Nicole Smith found her in her room in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The employee pulled back a sheet and discovered that she appeared to have choked on her own vomit. The same source claims that Smith took what was referred to as a "children's sedative," and had "kept passing out" before her death. [AH]

Investigators began an autopsy Friday to help determine the cause of Anna Nicole Smith's death, according to the Broward County medical examiner's office. There was no indication how long the autopsy would take, but the office said it would hold a news conference later Friday to discuss the preliminary results. If the exam determines she died of natural causes, the results should be released soon. If not, it could take weeks for tests to determine what killed the 39-year-old reality TV star, Playboy playmate and former Guess model. Authorities investigating Smith's death retrieved a "large amount" of prescription medicine from her hotel room, law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation said. The sources did not characterize any of the drugs as illegal. The prescription drugs were reportedly in the name of her lawyer and boyfriend, Howard K. Stern, and included Valium and antibiotics. Over-the-counter drugs, including cold and flu medicines, also reportedly were found. Another Smith attorney and the reporter who last interviewed her said Smith was ill in the days leading up to her death. [CNN]

Hmm ... I find it very hard to believe that the cause of death was due to natural causes. I also find it very interesting that the prescription medicine in Anna Nicole's room was in the name of Howard K. Stern (who was planning on marrying her officially later on this month). If she was ill in the days leading up to her death, why was her medicine in someone else's name? If she was traveling with a private nurse, why wasn't her medication prescribed in her name? I don't know that we will get all of the answers to all of our questions today ... or if we will get them at all ... but I, for one, would not be surprised if someone gets charged for her death. [Source]

The truly sad thing in all of this is that none of this information is really that surprising. I sincerely hope that innocent little Danielynn Hope will be raised in a loving and caring environment and that her life will flourish happily and healthily in a way that eluded both her mother and her brother.

UPDATE: From the press conference for the initial autopsy results:

Anna Nicole Smith did not appear to be a victim of foul play, according to preliminary results of an autopsy Friday. The cause and manner of death were not determined, however, and the investigation remains open. Dr. Joel A. Perper, chief medical examiner of Broward County, Florida, said there was no indication of blunt-force trauma, asphyxiation or other physical trauma. Perper said his office is awaiting results of toxicological and other tests, but there were no drugs in her stomach. "There are a number of possibilities," he said, including natural causes, a drug reaction or some combination of causes. Seminole Police Chief Charlie Tiger said no evidence suggests a crime occurred. Tiger said no illegal drugs were found in Smith's hotel room. He said prescription drugs were found, but would not name them.

Moving on ... Academy Award nominee Eddie Murphy, Thandie Newton and others were on hand for the Hollywood premiere of their new movie Norbit last night ... here are a few photos from the red carpet:

Can I just say that I *love* that Eddie Murphy can go from garnering an Oscar nomination (one that he has an excellent chance of winning) for his spectacular work in the movie Dreamgirls to starring in a movie like Norbit. I hate to admit it but this movie looks funny in that Nutty Professor II: The Klumps sort of way. I would love for Eddie to win his award and then accept it dressed as the Rasputia character from Norbit. Now that would really class up the Academy Awards. [Source]

Elsewhere in Hollywood, various celebrities and style icons were on hand for the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Awards that honored Gianni and Donatella Versace last night ... there were a lot of couples in attendance ... here are a few pics from the red carpet:

Everyone looks fabulous ... even Marc Anthony had some semblance of vitality. Poor Naomi Campbell appears to have had a hard time securing a date for the evening. It's too bad she's not allowed to beat people into submission any more ... cuz she really could'a bagged herself a hottie. [Source]

In New York, Rachel Bilson was lookin' adorable at the Badgley and Mischka Fashion Show at NYC Fashion Week yesterday:

She is just so damn cute. I wouldn't necessarily say that singlehood agrees with her because she never looks bad ... besides, I'm still holding out hope that she and Adam Brody will get back together again at some point. [Source]

Also attending Fashion Week events yesterday was the hot new Hollywood couple made up of Nicole Richie and Joel Madden. Here are pictures of Nic/Joel making their way into and enjoying the Zac Posen Fashion Show yesterday:

The last photo, from RoidRage.com, was taken at the Bryant Park Hotel Launch of SMET event. I love that Joel Madden never misses a NYC Fashion Week ... who knew that guys from Waldorf were so into fashion. I looks like he and Nicole really enjoyed themselves at the event. Cute! [Source, Source]

Elsewhere in NYC, Hilary Duff appeared on MTV's TRL to debut the video to the first single, With Love, off her new album Dignity:

Is it wrong that I didn't hate her gold pants? They do have that stretch pants look to them (all that is missing are the sequined stirrups) but I dunno ... the whole look actually looks very good on her. [Source]

As for the video, it's just an extended version of the commercial for her fragrance which is also called With Love:

Pretty much every scene from the commercial is in the video ... which makes the video feel like a commercial (I mean it basically is one). Click HERE to watch the commercial if you'd like to compare. Personally, I think it would have been more interesting if she had come up with a completely different video concept to set it apart from the commercial but I can see how she might not have wanted to pass up the opportunity for the product tie-in. Everyone's favorite VD is on the way ... Valentine's Day! And when you think of VD (which is only 5 days away), you think of Paris Hilton ... who spent yesterday afternoon stocking up on sexy items to spice up her holiday which she will be sharing with, one presumes, Stavros Niarchos:

ONE fella is in for a real treat this Valentine's Day after PARIS HILTON was spotted stocking up on some very saucy items in LA. The hotel heiress spent Thursday afternoon browsing gift shop Aahs on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. And she splurged on an edible candy bikini and thong set, as well as other X-rated goodies. The blonde was very upset during her three minute spree. At one point she was crying and talking to a friend on the phone saying 'I don't know what to do'. But she cheered herself up on spying the new outfit and left with her minders and some bulging bags A fellow female shopper told me: "Paris was wearing her sunglasses and was dressed in a black tracksuit with a pink skull and crossbones on the back. She was going round the shop talking to someone on the phone and crying - she kept wiping her nose with a tissue. She picked up an edible bikini set, vibrating pink tickler and some raunchy Lovehearts." Now that, ladies and gentleman, is how you have yourself A Very Special Hilton VD Holiday. [Source]

It is unclear how Lindsay Lohan will be spending her VDay, but at least she's already got all the sexy gear she needs hanging from her rear view mirror ready to go if duty calls:

Lindsay looks pretty good in these pictures. She looks like she's been staying clean and sober ... which is most excellent news. [Source]

Richard Simmons, fitness guru extraordinaire, was on hand for the unveiling of the Fisher Price Smart Cycle yesterday ... and he had along a few little friends to help him at the event:

Isn't it curious that those children, the ones he spent the most time getting photographed with, look like they have his same frizzy hair? You don't suppose that Richard has been hiding a dirty little secret for this long, do you? Could he actually be a mack daddy with secret love children peppered all over the country? Hmm ...[Source]

Here is a new picture of Jessica Simpson rockin' her new burnette look:

Straight up now tell me ... doesn't she remind you of some other loony brunette that we know and love? [Source]

Here are a few amazing photographs of the Scissor Sisters on the last stop of their Australian tour at the Vodafone Arena in Melbourne last night:

Click HERE to see more pictures from the show. They are really amazing photos. And, in case you missed it, you can click HERE to see part 1 of the Sisters' appearance on the NBC soap Passions which aired yesterday. Part 2 airs today. [Source]

And finally ... here is some great production artwork from the upcoming blockbuster Spider-Man 3 and the prolly not gonna be a blockbuster movie Fantastic Four 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer of Venom and Dr. Doom:

I was unaware that these villains had such hot pectoral muscles. Woot! [Source, thanks Joe]

Les News:
My dear Diana arrived last night and we immediately whisked our way to the closest sushi bar so that we could sate our appetites and start our long process of catching up with one another. It is so great to finally have her here ... we are going to have FUN! She says we have to give a shout-out to her friend Kelly back in DC -- we wish you were here! She wants to see a few sights today ... so that is what we're off to do. The weekend is here Bitches! Enjoy it! I am out!
